關禮廉表示:「如同新加坡及香港,台灣的薪資成長同樣落後於亞太區的平均薪資成長率。這正好反映出這些地區是擁有低通膨率的已開發經濟區域。與世界其他已開發國家,例如北美洲及歐洲地區,面臨類似的薪資調整情況。」
他進一步補充:「在亞洲的其他開發中國家,為了確保薪資調整幅度不被通貨膨脹侵蝕,因此薪資成長率會遠高於台灣、香港及新加坡等地區。這也正好反映了快速成長中的市場對人才的需求,以及在這些地區優秀人才激烈競爭的實際情況。」
相關研究預測在亞太地區薪資增幅最高的國家分別為越南 (10%)、印度 (9.3%) 及印尼 (8.5%)。然而這些國家的薪資成長率即使在過去十二個月的經濟動盪期間,仍然持續保持上升趨勢。
日本地區企業員工預計在2010年將會獲得平均2%的薪資成長,則為亞太地區內最低。
ECA這項年度薪資趨勢調查包含觀察全球企業在2009年的實質薪資調整幅度,以及預測2010年企業員工薪資成長率等,以協助全球性的跨國企業根據當地市場的薪資水準以制定員工薪資。
